Describe a machine part. Get a CAD model you can manufacture.

Luxxo is an AI design engineer. It reads a written description or a hand sketch, plans the part the way an engineer would, checks it for manufacturing, and delivers a parametric 3D model for Creo.

Status: working prototype, September 2026.

Input, written by an engineer“An electric motor with two gears. One on the motor shaft, the other on a second shaft.”
Model file gear_drive.glb not found. Upload it to the same folder as this page.
Output: 6-part assembly, generated as parametric code. Drag to rotate, scroll to zoom.

Three parts, from words to solid models

Each model below was produced by the prototype from the short request shown. The AI listed its assumptions, applied design rules, wrote the model as code, and checked the result before export.

Gear drive with electric motor

Request

“An electric motor with two gears. One is on the motor shaft, and the other is on the second shaft.”

Gears
True involute teeth, module 1.5, 17 and 51 teeth
Ratio
3 : 1
Centre distance
51 mm, calculated
Tooth interference
0 mm³, checked
Added by the AI
Mounting plate, 6001 bearing, motor bolt pattern
Flagged by the AI
Second shaft needs another bearing
Output

Adjustable strut with end plates

Request

“Two plates 10 × 200 × 300 mm overlapping by 100 mm, with two slots through the overlap. Each plate has a 10 × 200 × 200 mm end plate in a T shape.”

Overall size
520 × 200 × 210 mm
Parts
2, recognised by the AI as identical
Slots
10 mm wide, sized for M8 bolts
Flagged by the AI
Edge distance below bolted-joint guideline, fix proposed
Output
STEP assembly for Creo
Model file lap_joint.glb not found. Upload it to the same folder as this page.
Drag to rotate. Scroll or pinch to zoom.

CVT transmission (concept)

Request

“ok give me one example of simple cvt transmision and add there assy save on the end”

Assumption
Centre distance 140 mm, sheaves Ø110 mm with an 11° cone angle, shafts Ø20 mm.
Parts
2, The V-belt is 20 mm wide and 10 mm high.
Output
STEP assembly for Creo
Model file cvt_transmission.glb not found. Upload it to the same folder as this page.
This is a concept model: there is no housing, bearings or shifting mechanism (centrifugal weights and spring), and the sheaves are placed symmetrically about the belt. In a real CVT the movable sheaves sit on opposite sides, so the belt shifts slightly sideways.Drag to rotate. Scroll or pinch to zoom.

How it works

Luxxo does not draw pictures of parts. It writes the model as parametric code, the same way a developer writes a web page, and a CAD geometry kernel turns that code into an exact solid.

  1. Describe

Type what you need, upload a hand sketch, or both. Dimensions written on the sketch are read directly.

  2. Understand

The AI restates the part, lists every assumption, and asks only when a missing dimension decides whether the part works.

  3. Engineer

It applies design rules: standard hole sizes, wall thickness, edge distances, bearings and gear geometry.

  4. Build and check

The model is generated and verified for valid geometry, size, volume and part interference.

  5. Deliver

You get a STEP file for Creo and a list of named parameters to change the design.

The problem

Engineers often spend hours building a CAD model just to show an idea, and many ideas are rejected after the first look.

Existing text-to-CAD tools produce shapes that look right but are not engineering-ready: no design intent, no manufacturing checks, and geometry that is hard to edit.

What Luxxo does differently

  • Every model is parametric. Change a length or a tooth count, and the whole design rebuilds correctly.
  • Engineering checks are part of the process, and the AI says when a design has a problem.
  • It targets the CAD tools engineers already use, starting with Creo.
  • It is built by a mechanical engineer, from real design work.

What funding will build

The prototype proves that an AI can turn a short request into a correct, checked model. The next steps turn it into a tool engineering teams can use every day.

  1. Native Creo models

Create real Creo features with full model history, instead of imported geometry, using the Creo TOOLKIT programming interface.

  2. Engineering knowledge base

Standard parts such as bearings and fasteners, materials, and design rules for milling, sheet metal and welded parts.

  3. Pilot with engineering teams

A web application tested on real projects, measuring design time against manual CAD work.

Built by an engineer

Momo Lažetić has worked as a mechanical engineer for 17 years and holds a master’s degree in aerospace engineering. He designs machine parts in Creo and builds software, and started Luxxo to remove the slowest part of early design work.
